Introduce yourself and your interests here! (And also your pets. Especially your pets. 🥰)
Hello! I’m tiziana from the art history department. My principal focus is Dress history/ fashion colonial art. I’m interested in women/ animal hybrids! I have to cats (caterina and kiki), and technically, a dog (tiramisu)!
Greetings, I’m Deniz! I’m the UDAAWG group founder/leader, Art History Animalia head animal, and a PhD student in the UD Art History department (early modern global track). My research is focused on intersections of natural history with art & visual culture history, primarily animal iconography. I am interested in animals across time and space and haven’t settled on a dissertation topic yet, but much of my recent research has centered on parrots (and “exotic” birds in general), opossums and coatis, and frogs, and I also have an emerging project focused on animal alphabets!
I’m currently reading for my minor exam in eco-criticism, with a major exam in early modern global on the horizon for fall semester.
I have had many pets and animal friends over the years, but currently just have a trio of rescue cats in the family: Freyja, Ziggy, and Junebug (aka The Baby).
Cheers, Deniz
